Ben Stapp is a Minneapolis local and passionate business professional active in mental health services. Throughout his career, he has counseled many adults in their substance abuse recovery journey and has turned it into a thriving career.
Initially, Ben set out to impact others’ lives and enable them to pursue recovery. He first did this in more intimate settings, providing psychoeducation training and leading therapy groups. As he progressed in his career, however, he began opening doors for himself in leadership positions, allowing him to impact more individuals through his work in organizational leadership.
As the director of outpatient services for the MN Adult and Teen Challenge, a substance abuse recovery program, Ben Stapp took on wider responsibilities, impacting budgeting and program planning. This exercised his abilities in vision to market conceptualization, program growth, organization management and systemic change. During this time, he also served and continues to serve as an Education Committee Chair for the Minnesota Association of Resources for Recovery and Chemical Health (MARRCH). To this day, he leads monthly planning meetings and plays a critical role in the planning of MARRCH’s bi-annual conferences. In 2019, he was the proud recipient of the MARRCH Counselor of the Year Award, which inspired him greatly in his career and reassured him of his life’s work.
In January 2022, however, Ben began serving as the VP of Business Development for Kyros Recovery, a mental health care service and the world’s first sobriety management platform. In his role here, Ben Stapp focuses on future roadmap development, plan conceptualization and growth model utilization, all of which aid in the organization’s overarching goal to create a simplified approach to drug rehabilitation. Seeing the impact the platform has already had on numerous individuals, Ben is inspired by the possibilities within the company and the opportunities he will have to impact larger numbers of people.
Although much of Ben’s time is sacrificed to aid in these philanthropic endeavors, he has many active hobbies of his own and a deep love for travel. Many of Ben’s hobbies have encouraged him to travel to new destinations and live an active lifestyle, which he finds to be of great benefit to his own mental health. Some of Ben Stapp’s hobbies include wake surfing, competing in triathlons, playing tennis, spending time with family and helping others. He has found traveling to be a profound way to connect with the world, meet new individuals from all walks of life, create meaningful memories with his family and find interesting hobbies to add to his repertoire.
In addition to leisure travel, Ben enjoys getting out into his community and surrounding communities to engage in volunteer work. Although his career meets many of his philanthropic desires, he still holds volunteer work in high regard and enjoys serving others in new ways.
